I've never known how to use them.
I like the retro feel and the sketch was great as well!
they are simple to use, but very tricky to really master, there are some amazing vector artists out there, they will do a picture in vector, but you would think it was a photo! insane!
How do you use Vectors, anyway? I work with Painter and Photoshop but haven't found a facility for them as of yet.
It's a bit like using the pen tool in Photoshop, you create points and adjust them to create the lines, shapes etc etc it's smoother t use Illustrator than Photoshop for that sort of thing i find.
Vectors don't go pixelly if blown up a million percent, unlike a rastor image too. So they are popular with designers who might do a lot of large work ie for ads and stuff outside. Say if i wanted to put a pic i'd painted in photoshop, it would only get so big before becoming distorted, vectors as a rule don't do that.
I like the idea of Illustrator, and Vectors in general. It almost seems like graphic design, sculpting a piece bit by bit rather than sketching it out.
